Unfortunately, rejection in the college admissions process is a hard reality that many students must face. In some cases students can be left with few college options, but there are actually a number of routes that students can take to ultimately fulfill their college dreams.
Gap years, where students take time off between high school and college, are becoming increasingly popular in the US. They allow students to gain real-world perspectives and experiences before stepping onto a college campus.
While many colleges have regular and early decision deadlines that extend into mid-January and February, other colleges offer rolling admission programs, where students can submit their application at any point before the school’s final deadline (usually in May or June) and receive an admission decision within a few weeks – sometimes well before the usual April 1 notification date.
