IvyWise is a world-class educational consulting company that guides students through the admissions process to selective colleges and universities. The Tutoring Manager oversees all student tutoring programs to ensure that each client’s experience with IvyWise is flawless. We are seeking someone with strong interpersonal skills who is detailed oriented and willing to go above and beyond to ensure our tutoring programs run smoothly, while yielding high end results.   • Manage existing IvyWise tutor pool to ensure they provide excellent customer service with ongoing review and professional development as needed
  • Communicate with tutors on a regular basis to address student issues in a proactive and timely manner and maintain consistent scheduling throughout the tutoring program
  • Overseeing curriculum development and materials used by IvyWise students and tutors
  • Manage Tutoring Coordinator to ensure flawless delivery of tutoring services
  • Source, train and hire new tutors, as needed
  • Keep abreast of test preparation and college admissions news, distributing appropriate information to tutors and the team as needed, and work with Client Relations team to keep counselors apprised of latest test prep news
  • Handle logistics for implementing new tutoring programs following new or renewal sales
  • Track score improvements and test registrations for all tutoring students, proactively addressing score improvement concerns with families or Client Relations team members as is appropriate
  • Maintain financial records as they relate to monthly and yearly goals and generate year-end tutoring-specific reporting
  • Assist sales and marketing team for tutoring-specific sales, marketing or PR needs
  • Work on development and maintenance of proprietary student portal
  • Develop best practices for tutoring related operations and continually review and refine procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

You must be organized, detail-oriented, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have the natural inclination to think creatively and work independently and in a team environment. The ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • Previous management experience required
  • Prior experience in customer service or program management, preferred; experience in education or working for an international or luxury brand is a plus
  • Personal or professional experience in the test prep or the college admissions industry, preferred
  • A dedication to best-in-class service and client experience
  • Strong written communications skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and impeccable editing abilities
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to multitask, set priorities, and take initiative
  • Discretion and dedication to protecting the confidentiality of students and families

IvyWise is an independent firm that guides students and their families through the school admissions process, empowering students to reach their academic and personal goals while alleviating the stress commonly associated with school and college admissions. IvyWise guides students and families seeking admission to Pre-K, K-12, college and graduate schools and programs. Our counselors complement school-based services and are truly passionate about our students' success, becoming trusted advisors and advocates for our students. A college counselor assists students in grades 9-12 with all aspects of the college preparation, search, and application processes. We are currently seeking a part-time counselor to work with students. This position provides the opportunity to counsel students, manage individual projects, and work as part of an energetic and creative team. QUALIFICATIONS: You must be organized, detail-oriented, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the natural inclination to think creatively and work both independently and in a team environment. The ideal candidate possesses the following:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Advance degree preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of direct experience in undergraduate admissions office of a selective US college or university. Experience in college counseling at a selective high school may also be considered towards this prerequisite. Experience in both is preferred. Prior involvement working with international students is a plus. We cannot consider the candidacy of any applicant who does not meet this prerequisite.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills
  • Discretion and dedication to the confidentiality of high school students and families
  • Confidence, resourcefulness, accountability, and a high degree of integrity and ethics
  • Multi-lingual is preferred, especially a second language in: Spanish, French, Portuguese, or Mandarin
The part-time counselor position requires flexibility as part-time counselors often work weekends and evenings to advise students. Applicants must be available for one weekly evening team meeting in the fall (remote participation acceptable).
