Virtual TutoringVirtual Tutoring Connects Students and Educators No Matter Where They are in the World

We live in a digital age, and with a variety of tools available these days people are able to connect with each other all over the world at any time. This has led to more flexibility when it comes to learning and working. At IvyWise, we’ve been pioneers of virtual counseling and tutoring for years, however, many families still have reservations about the virtual tutoring experience.

With standardized testing shifting to online platforms (LSAT, GRE, ACT, GMAT), it is only natural for academic tutoring and test prep to also transition into a computer-based format. As students becoming increasingly crunched for time with extracurricular and academic obligations, online tutoring has become an easy, fun, and innovative way to incorporate tutoring into everyday life.

While we are usually able to accommodate in-person tutoring for families that request it, our tutoring is primarily located online via Zoom which allows us to connect with students across the globe. Instead of being limited to tutors just in your region, Zoom provides access to specialized tutors in any area of the world. For instance, we could have a tutor in Paris working with a client in South Africa!

Virtual tutoring takes our services to the next level, providing families with the customized support and access they need during this critical time. Here’s why virtual tutoring can be beneficial to students of all learning types.

Interactive
It is easy to be interactive and engaged in tutoring sessions when meeting with tutors online. Zoom has a whiteboard and share features that allows tutors to work on problems with their students while still being able to connect over video chat. This gives students the opportunity to have the face to face connection of working with a tutor anywhere in the world. As you can see below, or in our online tutoring demo video, our tutors are able to draw and explain problems on the Zoom app in the same way that they would with paper and pen for in-person.

Zoom also permits tutors to share screens with clients, as well as upload and send files through the platform. This allows tutors to share reference documents seamlessly through the platform for students to work on in-session.

 Zoom Innovative

Innovative
IvyWise tutors have found ways to be extraordinarily innovative and engaging through Zoom and virtual tutoring. Whether it is from creating custom Google Classroom or Google Slide experiences, to working through Khan Academy, integrating Classcraft for our videogaming students, or  receiving custom electronic notebooks for their work, our tutors are familiar with online platforms and ready to integrate neat software and state of the art programs to make tutoring engaging and fun!

Convenient
Online college counseling and tutoring gives students the freedom to pick up their laptop, tablet, or phone and log into a session at any time. For students that are frequent travelers, it is convenient to bring your studies with you as you’re on-the-go. Especially for students who have numerous after school activities, it’s important to be able to access your studies from the convenience of your home or wherever you are!

Virtual tutoring can be a great option for students who need additional academic support or test prep for the SAT, ACT, SAT Subject Tests, and more – no matter where they are in the world. For more information on our tutoring services, contact us today.
