AP exam dates and schedule.jpgHere’s When Students Will Take AP Exams in 2017

With AP exam dates less than a month away, it’s time for students to prepare for these intensive tests.

Why are AP exams important?

If you’ve spent the entire year taking an Advanced Placement course, the AP exam will be the culmination of the course – testing everything you have learned throughout the semester or year. It’s important to perform well on the exam, as colleges will want to see your scores and that you understand the material – especially if it’s in a course that relates to your areas of interest.

In some cases, high AP scores can be used for course credit, allowing you to gain college credit before you even graduate from high school. This can go a long way toward cutting back costs and allowing you to bypass entry level courses your freshman year that might not be engaging or challenging since you already know the material.

Preparing for AP Exams

In the days and weeks leading up to AP exams, make sure you’re familiar with the test format, what questions will be asked, and, of course, the content. Don’t stress yourself out by cramming for the exam the night before. Take your time to review all key concepts from the past year, and take a few practice tests if you haven’t already.
