Jonathan has well over a decade of experience in tutoring and test prep. He specializes in foreign language and humanities tutoring, including French, Spanish, history, and literature.

As a tutor, Jonathan loves engaging students by using fun, dynamic, and cutting-edge digital tools and techniques in his tutoring sessions. He also likes to keep learning fun by adding some occasional Netflix, music videos, and memes to homework routines, and using smartphones for fun online review games. He also brings a calm presence to his sessions, so if students are stressed out about a class or an exam, working with Jonathan will help them feel peaceful, focused, centered, and ready to succeed.

Jonathan was born in Colombia and grew up on Long Island as a bilingual speaker of Spanish and English. He studied French literature and translation and intercultural communication at Princeton, earning his degree there with high honors, and went on to study Romance languages and literatures at Harvard, obtaining his M.A. with distinction in his graduate work. He lived in Paris for two years and did a research exchange at the prestigious École Normale Supérieure. In addition to Spanish and French, Jonathan also speaks a number of other languages including Italian, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Mandarin Chinese, and most recently Swedish, from the intermediate through advanced levels.

At Harvard, he won teaching excellence awards every semester that he taught, earning glowing evaluations from nearly 100 Harvard undergraduates. He also taught Spanish and French as well as Francophone and Latin American history, literature, and culture at St. Norbert College, a small private liberal arts college in Wisconsin.

Jonathan has interpreted at the United Nations in New York City as well as for various international NGOs. He recently earned his M.Sc. in International Development and Management at Lund University in Sweden with a view towards pursuing a career that addresses pressing issues such as climate change and global inequality.

In his personal time, Jonathan enjoys hiking, going to language cafés, and doing language-related volunteer work.
