Prior to being at IvyWise, she’s worked as a private academic tutor for the sciences and English reading and writing, as well as an ACT/SAT prep tutor. She’s also worked as a teacher’s assistant in a variety of STEM classes she excelled in during her undergraduate years.
Janet is a strong advocate for engaging, individualized, and adaptive tutoring, and believes that lessons should be tailored to fit the student’s needs and interests. She believes tutoring to be more than simply academic help and likes to pursue a strong sense of mentorship as well. She aims to build strong relationships with her students so that she can tailor her lessons to best suit their personal needs, concerns, and learning styles.
When not tutoring, Janet can be found deep in the food scene, whether that be cooking/baking for her friends and family or exploring new restaurants, or outdoors where she loves to play sports!
