Counselor Profile

Katie is a former Assistant Director of Admissions at the University of Notre Dame.

At Notre Dame, Katie reviewed applications for all undergraduate colleges and schools, evaluating applicants from the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. She worked specifically on high-talent recruitment and contributed to admissions publications. Having evaluated thousands of admissions applications, she has a keen eye for the details that make applicants come to life.

Katie has a bachelor’s in American Studies from Notre Dame, where she also minored in the Hesburgh Program in Public Service, and spent a semester in the Washington Program. In addition to her admissions background, she brings years of experience as a high school college counselor who has strategically guided hundreds of students and families through the college search and application process.

Katie loves working directly with high school students, getting to know them personally to help them create the strongest applications possible to their best-fit colleges. For her excellence and care working with high school students, she has been the recipient of the Yale Educator Award, the University of Chicago Outstanding Educator Award, and the University of Notre Dame Golden Guide Award.

After helping students understand and embrace their unique gifts and life experiences, Katie guides them to effectively share themselves authentically to colleges. Whether reaching that “Aha!” moment in essay brainstorming or helping students discover the campuses where they will thrive, she takes pride in bringing clarity to what can otherwise feel overwhelming.

As a counselor, Katie’s goal is to make the high school and college planning journey not only more manageable, but one of joy, discovery, and even a little humor. Katie’s priority is to help students and parents stay calm, grounded, cared for, and empowered while always making forward progress toward a successful application process. A caring yet honest counselor, she helps students embrace challenges and celebrate the wins along the way.

In her free time, Katie can be found with her husband and two sons enjoying the four seasons, visiting new baseball stadiums, and finding fun outdoor spaces off the beaten track. Katie is an avid reader and loves to grow dahlias.
