Counselor Profile
Ernald specializes in working with students applying to highly selective universities, students interested in STEM, business, liberal arts and social sciences, transfer admissions, and international students.
With decades of experience in admissions and college counseling, Ernald has reviewed thousands of applications and brings deep insight into what helps students stand out in highly competitive applicant pools. As Assistant Dean of Admissions at Princeton, Ernald evaluated applications from across the globe. He also served as Associate Director of International Undergraduate Admissions at Drexel University, where he led international recruitment efforts. Ernald later joined Pine Crest School as Associate Director of College Counseling, guiding students through the college admissions process.
Ernald earned his B.A. in International Area Studies from Drexel University and a master’s in higher education from Harvard University.
As a counselor, Ernald brings a strategic mindset and calm, grounded presence. He enjoys helping students uncover what makes them unique and turning that into compelling, authentic applications. He’s especially passionate about essay development, crafting balanced college lists, and ensuring families feel supported and informed. Whether a student needs more structure, encouragement, or honest feedback, Ernald adapts his approach to meet each student where they are and help them succeed.
Outside of work, Ernald loves chauffeuring his two children to lacrosse games, traveling with his family and their dog Rosie, and tackling woodworking projects. He’s always up for exploring new places — and revisiting his favorite ski runs in the Northeast.
