Tutor Profile
Huey grew up in Maryland as a native bilingual speaker of Chinese (Mandarin) and English. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology and a minor in global health and health policy. He received a M.Phil. in Epidemiology at the University of Cambridge with support from Harvard’s Herchel-Smith Fellowship in Science and recently graduated from the M.D. program at Columbia University’s Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his transitional year at Newton-Wellesely Hospital and is now an ophthalmology resident at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School.
Huey loves using advances in technology to make learning more engaging and fun. He is known for being able to break down even the most complex science and math concepts through dynamic diagrams and step-by-step tutorials. Huey is extremely invested in his students’ outcomes and crafts each lesson with extreme care and deliberation, making sure to drill and target weaknesses while reinforcing strengths. Through his years of experience with standardized tests, he is adept at identifying common mistakes that students first make and correcting these mistakes for peak performance. His students have gone on to perform exceptionally well on standardized tests and AP exams.
In his spare time, Huey enjoys playing basketball and tennis, elevating his personal fitness level, solving and creating crosswords, improving his photography skills, and playing violin.
