Biology might seem like it’s just slides, cells, microscopes, and DNA models, but there’s a lot more to it than sitting in a lab all day. From conserving farm and grazing land, to developing new disease-resistant plants, to researching cures for a myriad of diseases, there’s a lot of biology that goes into making sure the things you use every day, especially during the holiday season, are safe for you and the environment. There are many different elements of the study of biology that can prepare you for a job in the lab or out in the field. From the micro to the molecular, here is Dr. Kat’s List of schools for biology fanatics.
For college-bound students, the holidays are a great time to stock up on some necessities that they may need for next year. From dorm decor to a new suit for internship interviews, gifts this season will likely be more practical than strictly for fun. However, this doesn’t mean practical gifts have to be boring. With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of our favorite gifts for future and current college students.
When it comes to Greek life, some students know for sure that they want to participate in a fraternity or sorority. Other students are sure they don’t, and the rest haven’t made up their minds yet. For many, it’s a matter of personal preference. Maybe a student’s mom, dad, or sibling was in a fraternity or sorority and the experience sounds exciting, or maybe it’s an opportunity to try something new and branch out. Everyone’s reason for deciding to rush is different.
