Why IvyWise?

IvyWise provides students around the world with unparalleled admissions counseling services. Our counselors are experts in the field and their knowledge is supplemented by our unique methodology and team approach to counseling. The results speak for themselves. In 2011, 92% of IvyWise students gained admission into one or more of their three top choice schools. We are proud to say that over the last 13 years, 99.8% of IvyWise alumni graduated from the colleges they selected and were admitted to with the support of IvyWise counseling.

Our Counselors

Our counselors, the majority of whom have first-hand experience in selective university admissions, work one-on-one with students and their families to ease them through the admissions and application process in a way that empowers students to reach their academic and personal goals. Together with the student, our counselors uncover the student's unique interests, values, learning styles, and personality. They customize a plan of action so the student can convey the best and most accurate representation of who he or she is. With our guidance, students discover the schools that are a great academic and social fit.

Our counselors are mentors and motivators who nurture a student's development and confidence, while simultaneously demystifying the university application process for the entire family.

In addition, our counselors keep abreast of current issues in college admissions by attending national and regional conferences, maintaining strong professional relationships, and regularly visiting primary schools, secondary schools, colleges, and universities. All IvyWise counselors adhere to the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC) Statement of Principles of Good Practice (PDF) and the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) Principles of Good Practice (PDF).

Our Methodology

Each student not only works with his or her specific counselor, but also has the advantage of benefitting from the expertise of our entire team. Our team meets as a committee to review and provide feedback on each student's application. Our team approach offers rare and invaluable insight while our methodology ensures that students send the strongest, most accurate representations of themselves to the schools of their choice.

Making the Difference

At IvyWise, our entire team, from Dr. Katherine Cohen, to all IvyWise counselors and staff, cares about each student and family. Our goal is to use our knowledge, talents, and skills to make the college admissions process a smooth and rewarding one for your family. Our families tell us that one of the best benefits of working with IvyWise is that parents are allowed to be parents, while their children can confidently transform into independent youth.

The benefit that we love most is the metamorphosis we watch our students undergo. As a result of working with IvyWise, students uncover not only who they are, but who they want to be in today's evolving world. The parent of one of our 2010 graduates shared, "How do you put a value on helping your child become the kind of singular young person you always knew he was?"

IvyWISEKIDS and Graduate Divisions

IvyWise also has a division for younger students (IvyWISEKIDS) that serves as a valuable source of guidance for parents navigating their way through pre-school, K-12 and boarding school admissions. Our Graduate Division offers assistance to individuals applying to business schools, law schools, medical schools and other graduate programs.

If you are searching for outstanding counseling for your student, you have come to the right place. For more information on selecting an educational partner to guide your student through the admissions process, we encourage parents to visit IECA.
