Graduate School Admissions

The graduate school admissions program is designed for the student who desires insight into the admissions processes at business schools (MBA programs), law schools, medical schools and other graduate school programs and a customized plan for targeting schools and presenting one's academic and professional history and goals. We have specialists in each professional and academic area.

For those who are unsure if graduate school is the right next step, we will coach you through an exploration process. For those who are ready to apply, we will lay out an overall plan in the Initial Consultation followed by sessions to provide guidance and support covering targeting schools, breaking down applications, planning testing schedules and additional coursework (if necessary), writing essays and personal statements, drafting a concise resume, preparing the "Brag Sheet," compiling portfolios, obtaining letters of recommendation, planning school visits, preparing for school interviews, strategizing to overcome learning differences (if necessary), staying organized and choosing the optimal school in which to enroll among the acceptance letters.

Dr. Katherine Cohen's dedication and sincere concern for her students makes Ivywise a unique consulting firm. As I applied to business school, she not only helped me manage my emotional fears of the application process but also helped me focus on the development of my essays. Dr. Cohen's experience and advice proved to be critical as I discovered that there were many aspects to the application process. With the help of Ivywise, I was accepted to my first choice and I will be forever grateful to Dr. Cohen and the Ivywise staff.

I would highly recommend IvyWise to anyone who wants to separate himself/herself from the large volume of MBA applicants. In a tough field of applicants, I really had to differentiate myself. Working with IvyWise allowed me to highlight aspects of my personality and background that were unique, interesting and compelling. My IvyWise counselor really took the time to uncover personal experiences that would weave into a finely crafted story and assisted me in a way that was consistent with the ethics codes of university admissions. The personalized approach and flexible style proved successful, as I gained acceptance into Wharton and Columbia business schools in arguably the most competitive year in history. IvyWise exhibited the utmost professionalism in all my interactions. By arranging off-hour meetings, my counselor went above and beyond the call of duty, especially since she took me on as a pro bono client (I even called her while she was on vacation to discuss my progress). IvyWise counselors really love their jobs, and it shows through the dedication they have for their clients, and most importantly, the results they help them achieve.
