A national expert on the secrets of athletic recruiting, Coach Mazzoni shares his years of experience helping IvyWise families understand the athletic recruiting process at all levels.
Coaching at the NCAA-I level since 1992, Coach Mazzoni is the author of Athletic Recruiting & Scholarship Guide. His articles have been published in Men’s Fitness, Baseball Digest and Scholastic Coach. Coach Mazzoni routinely speaks at high schools and athletic director conventions and has been featured on US News and World Report, ABC News, Fox Good Day New York and WFAN (610 AM) Sports Radio.
Coach Mazzoni was a good high school athlete with wonderful parents and high school coaches, counselors, and administrators. However, when it came to college recruiting, his support group either did not know what to do or have the time to help him individually. In an effort to help make the process easier for both athletes and coaches, he wrote The Athletic Recruiting and Scholarship Guide (now in its third edition and still the only book of its kind written by a college coach). Also, he has published articles in the ABCA Coaching Digest, NCAA News, Scholastic Coach, Baseball Digest, and Junior Baseball. He has a pitching video titled The Left-Handed Pick Off Move, which he presented at the national ABCA Convention in 2004.
A graduate of Gettysburg College, where he played varsity football and baseball, Coach Mazzoni also holds a Master’s in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University (FL). Throughout his career, he has held coaching positions at Post (NCAA- Division II,) Fairfield, Nova Southeastern Universities and the College of the Holy Cross. Currently, Coach Mazzoni is the pitching coach at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.
A native of Northport, Long Island, Mazzoni and his wife Keli, have three children: Colby, Brayden and an 11-year old black Labrador named Oakley.
