Nina Bauer

Ms. Bauer attended elementary and high school at The Dalton School, graduating in 1988. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in English, at The University of Pennsylvania in 1992. Ms. Bauer spent 1992-1993 at Eurocentre in Paris taking language and literature courses taught exclusively in French. She continued her studies at New York University, receiving a Master of Arts degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education in 1998.

Prior to joining IvyWise, Ms. Bauer was a full-time fourth grade teacher at The Dalton School in New York City, where she designed and taught classes in all subject areas and provided one-on-one tutoring and counseling to students with learning differences. Ms. Bauer also gained teaching and counseling experience at P.S. 130, where she served as a second grade teacher focusing on ESL children with special needs. Prior to P.S. 130, she was a fifth grade teacher at P.S. 41, where she planned the curriculum and provided both classroom and one-on-one instruction. She had her first teaching experience at The New York City Lower Lab School, where she taught kindergarten and second grade.

Ms. Bauer has been profiled in The New York Times and Private School Insider. She is often interviewed and quoted by the media for her insight into nursery school through high school admissions processes.

Ms. Bauer is Co-Chairperson of the New Century Leadership Steering Committee of the 92nd Street Y, serves as a representative to the Board of Directors for the School of the Arts at the 92nd Street Y and is a member of the 92nd Street Y's Development Committee. Ms. Bauer additionally serves as a Benefit Committee Member for the Central Park Conservatory.
