Liluye Jhala
College Admissions Counselor

Liluye Jhala brings a wealth of admissions and higher educational experience to her role of college counselor at Ivywise. An alumna of The Lawrenceville School, she graduated from Brown University where she pursued media studies and international relations and went on to receive a Masters of Fine Arts with Honors in Digital Media from the Rhode Island School of Design. As a former Admission Officer at Brown University, she evaluated over 1500 applications from aspiring freshman and transfer candidates across the country and internationally. Working with a wide range of schools- urban and rural, public and private, parochial, boarding, home school, etc.- she is familiar with the nuances of diverse academic profiles and the "intangibles" that factor into tough admission decisions. Liluye was a member of the Association for Black Admissions and Financial Aid Officers of the Ivy League and Sister Schools.
At Harvard University, Liluye worked within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and the John F. Kennedy School of Government conducting research and event programming for the Harvard University Native American Program and the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations. As Student Activities Coordinator, she oversaw Harvard's student-run organizations and provided advising support. At RISD, she designed curricula, taught in the Department of Art and Design Education and conducted portfolio reviews for high-school students. Invited by MIT MediaLab Asia, she lectured and conducted workshops at the National Institute of Design (India) and was included in the 4th International Media Art Biennale at the Seoul Museum of Art in Seoul, Korea.
