Jennifer Duran
College Admissions Counselor

Jen has worked extensively with students in a broad range of educational settings and brings a wealth of admissions experience to her role of college counselor at IvyWise.

As an undergraduate at Columbia University, Jen worked as a tutor and teaching assistant for the Upward Bound Program. After graduation, she remained at Columbia where she served as the Assistant Director of Admissions. Then, she moved on to College Coach, LLC, where she guided students from the Tri-State area through the college admissions process. Jen has co-authored The New Rules to College Admissions and served on the faculty at Boricua College as an Educational Facilitator and, most recently, acted as Campus Recruiting Coordinator for UBS Investment Bank.

She is a graduate of St. Paul's School in Concord, N.H., where she spent her junior year in Barcelona, Spain, as part of School Year Abroad (SYA). Jen is a National Urban Fellow, as well as an alumna of A Better Chance, and has a Master of Public Administration degree from Baruch College, City University of New York.

Jen's areas of expertise not only include assisting students seeking undergraduate admission to highly selective institutions, but also those interested, more specifically, in business programs. Finally, she is adept at working with Latin American/Spanish-speaking students and counseling students of under-represented. Because of her work as a campus recruiter, Jen also provides career counseling and activity planning for high school students looking to get started in business, finance and marketing.
